Source: Severino, Yanks reach 4-year deal

The Yankees and Opening Day starter Luis Severino avoided arbitration by agreeing to a four-year, $40 million deal, a source tells MLB.com insider Mark Feinsand. The deal, which is pending a physical, buys out his arbitration years and has a club option for a fifth year. The team has not commented.

Phils GM satisfied, but will keep eye on market

General Manager Matt Klentak discussed the Phillies’ offseason in a press conference on Thursday in Clearwater, Fla. The Phillies remain in contact with the agents for Bryce Harper and Manny Machado. The belief is that the front office still prefers Machado over Harper because of Machado’s combination of offense and defense.
